Each Pilates exercise is a lesson in opposition. Movement in one direction is lengthened and controlled into the next, while the opposing muscles stabilize. This allows Pilates to lengthen and strengthen muscles simultaneously, helping to create an energized, pain-free, flexible and strong body. Mental focus and concentration during Pilates is as important as the physical discipline. When clients learn to fully concentrate while executing each exercise with precision and control, the body will improve dramatically. Pilates is as much for the mind as it is for the body.

Leia is Pre and Postnatal certified through Carolyne Anthony’s Women’s Health Pilates™. Leia is also certified through The Center Method for Diastasis Recti Recovery™ for women who have this separation during and after Pregnancy. 

She has the passion, knowledge and experience with women who are trying to conceive, who are pregnant or are healing after birth. Pilates is wonderful during pregnancy for it truly combines the mind with the body, allowing the woman to learn to trust not just what her body can do, but also what her mind is capable of.
Postpartum is one of the most important periods in a woman's life. Physically her body has undergone a tremendous change in a small space of time. 
  • Pilates for the Geriatric population

The benefits of Pilates for the geriatric population are numerous. Pilates is an effective way to combat decreasing muscle mass, slow motor reactions, decrease self-esteem and help recondition joints. All this is done with very low impact, preventing possible further damage to an aging body.
