"I first went to Leia's prenatal pilates class when I was only about 8 weeks pregnant. I wasn’t even showing yet, but already I was so tired and had morning sickness (which, unfortunately, lasted my entire pregnancy!). Even though I didn’t feel great, I looked forward to Leia’s classes, and the gentle but thorough workout and camaraderie they provided. Leia is not only a wonderfully kind and calm person, but she is very knowledgeable in pilates and the way our bodies work. When it got to be too much for me to travel to the studio, Leia did private lessons in my home. You could tell that she had a special interest in prenatal clients, and I’m sure that interest and knowledge has grown she has become a mother herself. "One of the best things I did for my body and my brain was sign up for Pilates.  Somehow I got lucky enough to find Leia!  She's a great instructor and coach.  She has a terrific sense of humor and friendly approach to teaching, but she still knows how to challenge you - so that you continue to gain strength and confidence.  I have joint issues (knees & hips) as well as a chronic shoulder injury and she was willing to tailor workouts to help me strengthen those areas as well as the more traditional Pilates emphasis on core.  I've noticed that she watches everyone closely, even in group classes, to be sure we use proper form and technique.  The exercises have helped me stay active and complimented my other sports (swimming, biking, & skiing).  Leia is also always willing to try and accommodate my schedule, which is often erratic.  I have recommended her to other friends, including one who saw her as a prenatal client and also really enjoyed working with her.  But beware - she can't count! - so be ready to do a few extra repetitions -- or maybe she has just fooled us all this time into thinking that, so we'd work a little harder - she's a tricky one! - tee hee! "

“For me, Pilates was  something I knew my body (particularly my back) needed, but I’d hesitated for years before deciding to give it another try after close to 15 years away. I couldn’t have found a better instructor than Leia. Pilates is tough, and it can be intimidating, especially for newbies, but Leia is great at realizing each student’s potential. She knows my strengths and weaknesses and always asks how my body feels that day, if I’ve been working out, etc. Pilates helped me immensely when it came to running long distance races as it improved my posture and breathing, and Leia is a huge reason for that. She listens, observes my body and points out if I’m doing a move better than before (or not as well). I really appreciate that.
